What is TriState?
The Tri-State Fishing Tournament of New England is the oldest continuously run team surf fishing tournament of the east coast.
Beginning in 1965, as an outgrowth of an organization whose trust has been conservation, fishing and education on striped bass stocks. The tournament continues to be strong after 40yrs.
Headquartered in New England, the tournament is comprised of three legs each year. The first leg is held on Cape Cod in the spring and based at Town and Country, South Yarmouth. The second leg is held in Old Orchard Beach, Maine and based at the Beau Rivage Motel. The third leg is held in Westerly Rhode Island and based at the Pine Lodge Motel and Cabins.
We are a Non-Profit organization whose goals are to introduce people to new waters, to encourage sportsmanship and at the same time practice catch and release. We try to incorporate all these ideals into each of our tournaments each year.
The tournament is basically a six (6) person team fishing event. The costs are reasonable and the pleasure great. Clubs from several areas of New England fish the tournament regularly; new clubs are always encouraged to participate. Groups made up of individuals from competing clubs are organized on Friday evening and make their arrangements as to times to meet and areas to fish.
